I don’t get assigned to shoot auto racing often, but when I do it’s a nice change of pace from the other commercial and editorial photography that I do. Here are some of my favorite photos from covering AJ Allmendinger as he won the NASCAR Nationwide series Johnsonville Sausage 200 presented by Menards at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis. on Saturday, June, 22, 2013.
Road America is a great road course and is an easy track to work at. I was able to get great access to Allmendinger from the time he arrived at his car for qualifying to when he got out of the car to wave the checkered flag in victory circle.
